About Duran

My work combines traditional bone setting and physical training to improve how the body moves and organizes itself. I’m based primarily in Asia, working with methods refined through long-term practice.

I was exposed to martial arts environments from a young age through my father, Andy.
When I was eight, my father met Adam Mizner, who later lived with us for around two years. I wasn’t training at that age, but I was around serious internal practitioners and occasionally on the receiving end of internal force in practice. Adam is widely regarded within the internal arts community as one of the most skilled Tai Chi and meditation practitioners of his generation.

I grew up partly in Thailand from a young age and began spending time in Thai temples during my teenage years. From around thirteen to sixteen, I practiced meditation in forest temples and monastic environments. This period was formative, not in terms of martial training, but in developing discipline, stillness, and familiarity with sustained internal practice.
During this time, I met Ajahn Jumnien on multiple occasions. He is regarded by many as an Arahant. What stood out was not instruction or teaching, but presence — a quality of clarity, steadiness, and metta that left a lasting impression.

About Us
By twelve, I was also living in a martial arts school in Melbourne, training daily alongside adult instructors. My days involved regular Tai Chi classes, meditation, and physical training before and after school, including wrestling and training with instructors such as Curtis Brough and Paul McIntyre.
Later, at around twenty, I was living in Europe, where my martial training became more structured and intensive. I trained and meditated for long hours each day — often up to eight hours — focusing on standing practices, push hands, martial training, boxing, sparring, qi cultivation, and mental cultivation. That depth of training has continued ever since.
I later moved to London, where I became the youngest instructor within the HME organisation. I ran my own martial arts school for five years and taught around fifty dedicated students.

About Us
My primary hands-on skill is bone setting. This method was taught to me by Adam Mizner after he was studied it alongside Kung Fu masters in China. We worked closely together for many years refining this skill. The method is rare, traditionally kept within closed internal lineages, and forms the core of my work today.
Alongside this, I hold a Diploma in Tui Na from Xian Tian College and am a registered member of the Acupuncture Society (MAcS 2278). These qualifications support the work — they are not its foundation.
Professionally, I’ve worked across the UK, Europe, and Asia. I ran my own clinic in London and spent around four years as the in-house bone-setting specialist at Akasha Spa at Hotel Café Royal in Piccadilly Circus, widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading spas. My work has included everyday clients as well as actors, athletes, professional dancers, and rugby and cricket players.
Today, I’m based in Chiang Mai with my wife and son, running bone-setting sessions, training, and workshops across Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, and Bali.
